Chinese Checker Cake

Phew. This one took a lot out of me. Two hexagon-shaped chocolate walnut cakes, one cut into triangles and glued to the other, the whole thing smeared with chocolate ganache, and topped with Cadbury’s Gems. Oh, and vanilla butter cream for the border and checkered play area. By which time, of course, my sprained hand gave in and not one line came out straight.

And yet, here I am, dreaming of another cake project.

    @ET: Yeah, it was fun–we asked her to make one move before she cut it. And the grandchildren started picking at the Gems before it was cut!
